a day in the life: the morning run...

most mornings ginger and i take off on a morning run/walk.  we do not go too far, but it sure feels like a battle at 3600 meters.  we leave around seven and are back between 7:30-7:45 am.  today, we nearly ran most of the time, which was quite the accomplishment.

john, kirsty, and i also did some running on our way up to manang.  we wore pulse oximeters to measure our oxygen saturation while we ran each morning before our trek (we wanted to track how it changed as we gained elevation…what can I say, we’re science nerds).  kirsty, who had already trekked to the everest base camp before the trek to manang, was pretty well acclimatized.  her oxygen saturations were by far the best in the group.  if i recall correctly, mine were the worst!
