a day in the life: garlic everywhere...

we call her little red riding hood, and she makes us happy...

many trekkers and locals believe that garlic is a cure-all for altitude related illness.  so, naturally, most of our food has tons of garlic incorporated.  garlic soup, garlic pasta, garlic and onion pizza (my personal favorite), and there is garlic in the curry and garlic in the spring rolls and anywhere else you might imagine.  really, the only thing that’s missing is the garlic bread!

i imagine we are a nauseating smell to behold, but since the whole town is ingesting similar quantities of the stuff, and since it grows like weeds up here, john and i rarely notice the smell.  hopefully we can remove the stench from our clothing once we return to boston in june.  whew!

smell ya' later...
