circleville pumpkin festival...

when i first moved to columbus, i was completely excited about experiencing a real, true fall.  it was inspiring to watch the transition from the green jungle that is summer to the bright reds, yellows, and oranges of autumn.  columbus also brought new adventures with corn maizes and pumpkin patches, two experiences that were hard to come by while living in the pacific northwest.

my roommates at the time, jan and kristen, suggested i go with them to the circleville pumpkin festival.  i did, and so did john...and john and i have been going together ever since.  the pumpkin festival has so many wonderful (and some not so wonderful) pumpkin flavored things to eat, such as: pumpkin chili, pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin donuts, pumpkin pie, pumpkin burgers, pumpkin fudge, pumpkin corn dogs, and pumpkin buckeyes (i didn't try one, but alyssa did).

this month i am working in circleville on mondays and wednesdays, which made a trip to the pumpkin festival especially convenient.  kari and i went on wednesday after work.  we watched people judge the biggest pumpkin contest (the winning pumpkin weighed approximately 1622 lbs.), ate pumpkin ice cream, and did a little shopping.  then, later that evening when john and i were both too lazy to make dinner, john suggested we go find dinner at the pumpkin festival.  it was a great idea.

note: the pumpkin festival is about an hour away :).
