happy birthday, john

this year we celebrated a little early, as our schedules did not match up very well on the actual birthday date (or the days surrounding for that matter). anyway, it all started on sunday with a birthday dinner and of course, birthday cake. john even made me sing to him. honestly, i should not sing alone; it was pretty embarrassing. we ate dinner together again on monday evening, as well as both stayed home the rest of the night (something that's becoming a pretty rare event at our house). then, on tuesday the party really started. we opened presents, ate more cake (and cookie dough), went to the temple, and saw the new harry potter movie at midnight! i should also mention that on thursday, john's actual birthday, i gave my 1 o'clock patient the longest exam ever in hopes that i wouldn't be available for a 3 o'clock patient...which would allow me to actually see john on his birthday for at least a few minutes before he left for the hospital. well, i worked!
